Funeral celebrant in Hampshire

A life
remembered,
properly.

When someone we love dies, the last thing we need is a ceremony that feels like it could have been for anyone. We need time and space to tell the whole story. The funny bits, the hard bits, the bits no one outside the family even knew about.

I create funerals and celebrations of life that do exactly that. Warm, honest, sometimes lighter than you'd expect, and always led with calm.

Celebrant funeral vs traditional funeral

How a
celebrant-led funeral
is different

A celebrant ceremony isn't tied to a script, a faith, or a fixed length. It can sit anywhere on the spectrum you need it to. Quietly religious, completely non-religious, or a mix of both. We can include hymns and poetry in the same service. We can hold it in a crematorium, a woodland, a barn, the garden of the pub they loved. Wherever feels right.

And you choose your celebrant.

The funeral director will happily recommend someone, but the decision is always yours.

What people say

What families tell me
afterwards

The thing families mention most is that the ceremony felt like it was actually FOR their person. That I clearly took the time to understand who they were. That the room felt held, not heavy. That there was laughter where it was needed and quiet where it was needed. That they left feeling slightly lighter than they'd expected to.

That's the aim. Every time.

She became a friend

Suzie created and delivered the most beautiful and fitting Celebration of Life for my late husband and the memories that we have from that day we will cherish forever. What makes Suzie so special is that she took the time to get to understand not only Mike, but also our family. She became our friend.

Funeral celebrant fees

A gentle note on cost

Funeral ceremonies start from £300. This covers everything above.

If cost feels like a difficult question to raise, please don't hesitate to ask. I'd always rather you had the information you need than worried in silence.

Celebration of life ceremonies

End of life celebrations and living funerals

Alongside traditional funerals, I'm honoured to lead celebrations of life, memorial services and, when families want them, living funerals held before someone dies. These are among the most moving ceremonies I do. If it's something you're considering, I'd love to chat.

The funeral process

How
we'll work
together

  • Group-4

    First contact

Usually a phone call. Short, gentle, just to introduce myself and find a time to meet. I'll send you a guide so you know what sort of things we'll cover.

  • Group-4

    The family consultation

Ideally in person, sometimes on Zoom. This is where I get to know your loved one, through you. Who they were, what they'd want, who might speak, the music, the readings, the little details that made them them. No question is too small.

  • Group-4

    Writing the ceremony

I'll draft the script and send it over. It can be tweaked and re-tweaked as many times as needed. It's entirely about getting it right for your family.

  • Group-4

    The day itself

I'll arrive at least half an hour before the service to check everything is set, and be there to greet you. I'll lead the ceremony calmly and with warmth. You won't have to worry about a thing.

  • Group-4

    Afterwards

A follow-up, and a full copy of the ceremony script to keep.

One
more.

Superb storytelling

Suzie, you are amazing. Losing my Nan has been a really rough time for our family and as soon as I spoke to you on the phone that day, I knew you were the one. Your storytelling was superb. It was like you knew her. We will be eternally grateful for helping us give her the send off she deserved.
